The Mall Group Unveils Songkran Festivities Focused on Local Tourism Amid High Fuel Costs

Bangkok: The Mall Group continues the Songkran tradition, embracing the trend of traveling closer to home in the era of high oil prices. The Mall Group continues the Songkran festivities by creating a city landmark to attract traffic with a water tunnel and rooftop water park, catering to the trend of traveling closer to home in the era of high fuel prices.

According to Thai News Agency, The Mall Group announced that a survey of customers attending the event revealed that many families chose to spend Songkran within the city due to increased travel costs. Many customers stated that they intentionally did not travel out of town this year because of high fuel prices, so they opted to bring their families to shopping malls that offer a variety of activities, including water sports, dining, and areas for children to enjoy all day long. The water parks, in particular, were a favorite of the children, allowing them to spend the entire day at the mall.

Consumer behavior during this year's Songkran festival is beginning to change, with many families choosing to travel closer to home or engage in activities within the city instead of long-distance travel. As a result, large shopping malls have become one of the key destinations for consumers during the long holiday.

The Mall Group is therefore moving forward with organizing 'THE MALL LIFESTORE SONGKRAN FESTIVAL 2026: HOUSE OF FUN,' transforming The Mall Lifestyle Store space into a fun landmark in the heart of the city, perfect for families and young people to spend time together.

One of the highlights of this year is creating an "Entertainment Destination" experience through large-scale water activities, especially at The Mall Lifestyle Store Bang Khae, which has been developed into a water-themed landmark on the west side of Bangkok. It features a giant foam party and a 30-meter-long SKY SEA water tunnel, providing a space for customers and families to enjoy themselves all day long.

Meanwhile, the experience of cooling off is enhanced by HARBOR ISLAND, a world-class rooftop water park spanning over 10,000 square meters, the largest in Thailand. Located at The Mall Lifestyle Store Bangkapi and Bang Khae, it is one of the largest rooftop water parks in the region and has become a major attraction for families.

In addition, there are mini-concerts by T-POP artists, family activities, fun games, and Thai cultural activities, as well as shopping areas and restaurants open all day, reflecting the shopping center's new role as a "One Stop Holiday Destination" for the festive season.

The "THE MALL LIFESTORE SONGKRAN FESTIVAL 2026: HOUSE OF FUN" event will be held from April 10-15, 2026 at all The Mall Lifestyle Store branches.
