The national police chief ordered an investigation into the “police boss” who went on stage at The Icon.

The National Police Chief has ordered a criminal and disciplinary investigation of the “police boss” of The Icon Group. He will be summoned to the Crime Suppression Division today. The disciplinary results must be known within 2 days.

Pol. Gen. Kittirat Panphet, the national police chief, spoke about the case of a clip showing a police colonel on stage at The Icon Group Company Limited, inviting investment, persuading the public who came to listen, and criticizing the poor welfare of police officers, which led to the choice to do business with The Icon Group.

The national police chief said that he had ordered since this morning through Pol. Lt. Gen. Akkaradej Pimolsri, assistant national police chief, that the matter must be separated into two issues. Issue 1 is to investigate the police officer who acted like a coach and invited him to be questioned today. The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) will consider the details of his behavior. He stated that he will not assist in his capacity as a police officer
if any behavior is found to be in the nature of an offense, including fraud against the public or the Computer Act.

The second part that needs to be investigated is whether wearing a police uniform to do such a thing is allowed or not, and whether it was done during official time. In this part of the investigation, the National Police Inspector General has been ordered to investigate the disciplinary offense, which must be done in writing and reported back within 2 days from today.

When a police colonel criticizes the salary and compensation of police officers, it is his personal opinion. However, it is important that as a police officer, you know what should and should not be expressed.

Some comments from subordinates are sometimes good. I will know how the Royal Thai Police should improve and develop police work. In part, we have to listen to them. But taking government time to do things like this, if it is not taking government time to be personal time, it is fine. But whether wearing a uniform to do so
is correct or not, it must be seriously investigated.

Pol. Gen. Kittirat continued that he personally supports police officers who earn a living honestly and is ready to support them, but that means they must do it in accordance with the law, be honest, do not encroach on government time, and must not deceive others. From now on, it is the proof of the truth. From the clip, it is admitted that this police colonel really has a persuasive and persuasive nature. If it is proven that it falls under the category of deceiving people to join in doing something and causing damage to property, it is certain that both disciplinary and criminal charges will be taken.

He himself confirmed that the DSI has not yet tried to snatch any cases from the Royal Thai Police and the work of both units has been coordinated all the time. Whatever is the work of the Department of Special Investigation under its authority, it will proceed, while the police will do their part of the initial justice process. Furthermore, there have be
en no reports that anyone has tried to remove the cases from the police work, sending them specifically to the Department of Special Investigation. He is confident that what the police are doing is in accordance with the evidence.

When asked if he was satisfied with the police’s work today, Pol. Gen. Kittirat said that the police had done their duty well. As for the public’s positive feedback, it was an encouragement for the officers who worked. However, he would always instruct his subordinates to do their jobs quickly, correctly, carefully and thoroughly, and not to please anyone until it caused damage.

Pol. Gen. Kittirat mentioned the case where the accused’s lawyer will file a complaint against the police officers who searched 11 target locations, saying that they used excessive force. In this case, the accused or the lawyer can do as they have the rights, but he insisted that the police performed their duties correctly and comprehensively.
