Bangkok, The Prime Minister revealed the sports uniforms with the Ban Chiang World Heritage pattern, Udon Thani Province, that Thai athletes will wear to compete in the 2024 Olympics, and invited people to send encouragement to cheer on the Thai athletes. Prime Minister Settha Thavisin revealed that the uniforms that Thai athletes will wear in the 2024 Olympics have been inspired by the 'Ban Chiang World Heritage' pattern, reflecting the fusion between Thai cultural heritage and internationalism. The design team conducted detailed research, held a meeting with the Director of the Textile and Fabric Creative Design Center (FTCDC), Udon Thani Rajabhat University, and sought advice from the Ban Chiang Museum, Fine Arts Department, and the Ban Chiang community, which still preserves weaving, indigo dyeing, and making Ban Chiang pattern pottery. After gathering information, the team applied the patterns, indigo fabric colors, and the knowledge they gained to design a uniform for competitions and travel that lo oked modern and suitable for the world stage. They also used an innovative polo shirt made from recycled plastic bottles to play a part in solving environmental problems sustainably. This sports uniform is more than just clothing, but also represents a fusion of the past and a sustainable future, and inspires the new generation to realize the value of Thai culture and move forward steadily.
