Government House, The Prime Minister received The President's Award of Service from a representative of Claremont Graduate University as an alumnus who has made contributions to the public, promoted human development, and supported human rights. Mr. Sathit Thaveesin, Prime Minister, received The President's Award of Service from the executives and representatives of Claremont Graduate University, California, USA, which is an award given to alumni who have made significant contributions. The Prime Minister welcomed the executives and representatives from Claremont Graduate University and expressed his great pleasure and honor to receive The President's Award of Service, which reflects the Prime Minister's commitment to supporting human rights, improving the quality of life and dignity of the Thai people. The Prime Minister emphasized his commitment to working to further develop the quality of life of the Thai people, especially in promoting education for Thai youth to receive higher education. Dr. Michelle Bligh, Representative of Claremont Graduate University, USA, said it was an honor to meet with the Prime Minister today and was pleased that one of Claremont Graduate University's graduates has risen to the highest position in Thailand, which is an inspiration to current Thai students of Claremont Graduate University. She thanked the Prime Minister for creating a path for the future and doing something better for others. She also asked the Prime Minister to support creating more opportunities for future Thai leaders to have the opportunity to study at Claremont Graduate University. Dr. Michelle Bligh praised Thailand's development in human rights, such as the passage of the Marriage Equality Act and the provision of humanitarian assistance to Myanmar. In addition, Thailand and the United States have close relations and cooperation, especially in science, culture, trade and investment, and diplomatic relations. She believes that the Prime Minister's work plays an important role in supporting closer relations between the two countries.
