The Prime Minister urged to raise the level of drug suppression.

Government House, The Prime Minister has ordered the police to raise the level of drug suppression, increase necessary equipment for operations, and monitor the use of new innovations to transport drugs after finding that drones are being used to transport drugs across the border in foreign countries. Prime Minister Settha Thavisin revealed that he had spoken with Pol. Lt. Gen. Samran Nuanma, Assistant Commissioner of the Royal Thai Police, about the crackdown on drugs. During the past Saturday and Sunday, he went to Chiang Rai Province where police officers were killed and injured during drug searches. Therefore, the safety of officers must be raised, especially equipment such as night vision cameras and four-wheel drive vehicles. The Royal Thai Police will be the one to announce the details of the crackdown on drugs. Officers must therefore be encouraged and motivated to perform their duties. As for the equipment used in operations that Chiang Rai police requested during their duties, the Prime Minister said that it will be distributed throughout the country. He will ask to see the budget details again, including the use of technology such as drones. In foreign countries, the US Drug Enforcement Agency has found that drones are being used to transport drugs from Mexico to the US. Therefore, suppression and prevention are important matters.
