The shooter who killed Sergeant Major in a pub in Hua Hin has been arrested and detained, with bail denied.

Hua Hin Police Station officers took the man who shot and killed a 'Sergeant Major' in a pub in Hua Hin District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province into custody and denied bail due to the high penalty for the crime. From the case on August 18, the Hua Hin Police Station in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province received a report from the radio center that someone used a gun to shoot at a shop in Soi Hua Hin 80, Tambon Hua Hin, Amphoe Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. At the scene, one deceased person was found, identified as Sergeant Major Rojanaphon, aged 31, who had been shot once in the left chest and once in the head, a total of 2 shots. The perpetrator was identified as Mr. Sen, aged 34, an advisor to the Police Investigation Division, Hua Hin Police Station. Yesterday afternoon (August 18), Mr. Zen, the perpetrator, surrendered to investigators with a BUL Armory handgun and 12 rounds of 9 mm ammunition. The police questioned him, gathered witnesses, and took him to the Hua Hin Provincial Court for detention a t 10:00 a.m. today (August 19). Mr. Zen was clearly stressed and answered reporters' questions briefly, saying that the police would handle the case. He personally wanted to apologize to the family of the deceased. From the investigation, Mr. Sen admitted to being the perpetrator because he had clashed with the deceased at the scene. The investigator therefore charged him with intentional murder, attempted murder, possession of a firearm and ammunition without permission, and carrying a firearm in a city, village, or public road without permission. The suspect confessed to all charges and the investigator objected to bail because the crime carries a high penalty and it is believed that the suspect will flee. On the morning of the same day, the family of the sergeant traveled to the pub where the incident occurred and invited monks to perform a ceremony to call the sergeant's spirit. The sergeant's mother revealed that the family, relatives, and officers/supervisors of the Thanarat Infantry Center, totaling more than 10 people, will join in submitting a petition to oppose bail because the accused is an influential person with money and knows local politicians. They are worried that the case will not receive justice. As for the rumor that the family of the deceased is demanding money, it is not true at all. The family only wants to demand justice for the deceased and does not need to send anyone to negotiate. Thank you to all parties who gave encouragement and spread the news. I believe that my son did not die in vain. The Hua Hin Police Station Facebook page has published an order to withdraw Mr. Sen from being an advisor to the National Police Commission, effective from August 18, 2024 onwards. As for the scene of the incident, which was open beyond the time specified by law, the Hua Hin Police Station will collect evidence and take legal action. Source: Thai News Agency
