Three-Day Search Rescues Lost Man in Chiang Rai Forest

Chiang Rai:A 39-year-old man, Mr. Thanong Boonyod, has been rescued after being lost in the Doi Chong area of the Tham Luang-Khun Nam Nang Non National Park for three days.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Thanong, a resident of Mae Sai District, was found exhausted and starving in the forest. After being located by search teams, he was given food and water. Authorities are now working to safely transport him from the mountain for a health check.

The incident began on October 2nd when Mr. Thanong, his stepfather Mr. Boonsueb Chaihang, and his stepbrother Mr. Saranyu Boonyod entered the forest to forage for wild food. They had been warned by a patrol team to leave the area. On October 3rd, Mr. Saranyu informed family and authorities that Mr. Thanong had separated from them and subsequently lost contact.

Efforts to locate the missing individuals were initiated by various agencies. Mr. Boonsueb and Mr. Saranyu were rescued on October 4th, and Mr. Thanong was found on October 5th, concluding the search operation.
