Three teenagers nabbed for throwing bomb at Huay Kwang police station

Three teenagers accused of throwing a small bomb in front of Huay Kwang police station on Monday night were arrested yesterday.

One of the teenagers, 20-year-old Ekkachai Wonghajak, admitted of throwing the bomb to retaliate the police who earlier arrested his friend for drink driving.

Metropolitan Police Bureau commissioner Pol Lt Gen Sanit Mahathavorn said at the press conference today that the three were arrested separately at a condominium in Huay Kwang and a house in Nonthaburi province.

The Honda motorcycle which they rode on to throw bomb at the police station was also seized from Ekkachai's house in Nonthaburi along with a number of ping pong or small bombs.

Ekkachai admitted of making the home made bombs and use to throw at Huay Kwang police station to avenge the police for arresting his friend for drink driving during the Songkran festival.

On the night of the bomb attack, he said they rode to the station with him being a pillion rider. As they passed the station, he lobbed the bomb on the ground in front of the station and sped off.

He also admitted of drinking before avenging the police.
