Lopburi: The Meteorological Department reports scattered thunderstorms in the central and eastern regions, including Bangkok and its surrounding areas. The northern and northeastern regions will experience cool weather with morning fog.
According to Thai News Agency, the Meteorological Department forecasts the weather for the next 24 hours, highlighting varying conditions across different parts of Thailand.
The northern and northeastern regions are set to continue experiencing cool weather with morning fog. Meanwhile, eastern and central Thailand, including Bangkok, are expected to face scattered thunderstorms. These weather patterns are attributed to a weak high-pressure system or cold air mass covering upper Thailand and the South China Sea, which is causing southeasterly winds to bring moisture from the Gulf of Thailand into eastern and central areas, including Bangkok. Residents in upper Thailand are advised to maintain their health due to the changing weather and exercise caution when traveling through foggy areas.
In the southern region, scattered thunderstorms are anticipated due to the northeast monsoon covering the Gulf of Thailand, the southern region, and the Andaman Sea. Mariners in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea are urged to exercise caution and avoid sailing in areas with thunderstorms, as waves are expected to reach 1-2 meters in height, and over 2 meters in stormy areas.
The weather forecast from 6:00 AM today to 6:00 AM tomorrow outlines cool conditions with morning fog in Northern Thailand, where temperatures will range from 14-22 degrees Celsius at their lowest and up to 38 degrees Celsius at their highest. Similarly, Northeastern Thailand will experience cool weather with some morning fog, with temperatures ranging from a minimum of 17-22 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 37 degrees Celsius.
Central Thailand is expected to see patchy fog in the morning with scattered rain, primarily in the lower part of the region. Temperatures here will range from 23-25 degrees Celsius at their lowest to 38 degrees Celsius at their highest. Eastern Thailand will have a 20% chance of thunderstorms, particularly in provinces like Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi, and Trat.
In Southern Thailand, both the east and west coasts are forecasted to have a 10% chance of thunderstorms, with varying wind and wave conditions. Bangkok and its surrounding areas will experience patchy fog in the morning with scattered rain, with temperatures ranging from a low of 25-27 degrees Celsius to a high of 36 degrees Celsius.
