Tourism and Fishing Activities in Ranong Remain Unaffected Despite Myanmar Warship Incident.

Ranong: Tourism and fishing operations in Ranong Province continue as usual despite a recent incident involving a Myanmar warship firing at a Thai fishing boat. The situation has not disrupted travel and goods transportation between Ranong and Koh Song, nor has it impacted fishing activities in the area.

According to Thai News Agency, following the incident where a Myanmar warship shot at a Thai fishing boat, resulting in the capture of four Thai crew members, Ranong Province authorities convened with security agencies to discuss measures to aid the captured crew and engage with Myanmar authorities over border issues. The Thai authorities have formally protested, issuing a letter with three demands, including the immediate release of the crew and their boat. The Myanmar authorities have assured that the Thai crew members are being well cared for.

Meanwhile, the atmosphere in Ranong remains stable, with normal travel and trade activities persisting between Ranong and Kawthaung. Fishing operations continue un
hindered, with Thai fishermen actively engaging in their regular activities under the watchful eye of Thai authorities. Tourism in Myanmar remains unaffected as well, with Myanmar authorities ensuring that tourist activities are conducted smoothly.
