Tourists Flock to Ta Kwai Castle and Hill 350 on Final Day of Visits

Surin: Crowds flocked to Ta Kwai Castle and Hill 350 on the last day, creating a lively atmosphere. The final day of visits to Ta Kwai Temple and Hill 350 saw over 3,200 tourists eager to explore historical sites, enjoy the natural surroundings, and honor the bravery of those who defended the region.

According to Thai News Agency, the initiative was part of a collaborative effort by Surin Province, the 2nd Army Area, and the Bak Dai Subdistrict Administrative Organization. The pilot program, titled "Ta Kwai Castle and Hill 350," ran on June 6-7 and 13-14, 2026. It aimed to enhance historical knowledge, promote natural beauty, and pay tribute to the heroism of defenders of Thai soil.

During the event, soldiers were stationed to assist visitors and ensure that the guidelines for visiting the Ta Kwai Temple historical site were followed, facilitating a smooth and secure tourism experience. The lively atmosphere on June 14th attracted about 3,200 tourists, bringing the total number of visitors over the four-day period to nearly 10,000.

Visitors had the opportunity to explore seven key locations, including the Thai Defenders Monument, the Buddha of Compassion statue, Ta Kwai Temple, Hill 350, and the statues of Sergeant Roeng, Nong Woon, and Sergeant Anothai. These sites hold significant historical and emotional value for the Thai people.
