According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Mongkol Chaiyaphakdi, Head of Kaeng Krachan National Park, revealed that this is a very special time for tourists and nature lovers to experience the beauty of “Kraton Phra Ram”, a rare flowering plant in the genus Kraton Rishi, which is blooming spectacularly in the Kaeng Krachan forest area, starting at kilometer 14 on the Ban Krang-Vanilla nature trail, continuing to kilometer 22 on the route to Khao Phanoen Thung.
The Phra Ram spittoon is an endemic species found only in western Thailand. It is a parasitic plant that lives on aquatic vines at altitudes of 200 to 750 meters above sea level. The flowers are small, about 8-10 centimeters, but beautiful with a bright maroon or pinkish-red color. There are 10 petals that stand upright, almost at right angles, decorated with dense white patterns at the base of the petals and a circular shield in the center. Inside the petal tube, there are 20 beautiful yellow ridges, making it very striking.
