Bangkok: The Treasury Department is set to auction off a selection of prominent state-owned properties online, marking a significant move in its asset management strategy. Registration for this event is scheduled to commence on March 2nd, as announced by Mr. Akkharut Sonthayanon, Director-General of the Treasury Department. According to Thai News Agency, the auction includes state land that has been forfeited to the state through court rulings. It represents the first round of auctions for 2026 and features 41 properties in Bangkok and 20 other provinces, including Krabi, Chonburi, and Chiang Mai, among others. The auction will utilize a 24-hour electronic bidding system, underscoring the department's commitment to transparency and accountability. The properties have been acquired by the Ministry of Finance through the Treasury Department from various agencies in accordance with court judgments. These judgments relate to laws such as the Anti-Money Laundering Act and the National Anti-Corruption Commission Act. Notable properties up for auction include a residential condominium in Chatuchak District, Bangkok, with a starting price of 4,480,300 baht, and land with a semi-detached house in Thanyaburi District, Pathum Thani Province, starting at 1,660,500 baht. Other properties include a two-story shophouse in Mueang Chaiyaphum District, Chaiyaphum Province, starting at 1,250,000 baht; a single-story residential building in Mueang Nakhon Ratchasima district, Nakhon Ratchasima province, starting at 1,900,000 baht; and vacant land in Mae Sai District, Chiang Rai Province, with a starting bid of 950,000 baht. Registration and deposit for the auction will be open from March 2, 2026, to March 23, 2026, with the bidding period running from March 19 to March 24, 2026.
