Bangkok: The Meteorological Department has issued announcement number 13 concerning the status of Tropical Storm "Maysak," which has now weakened into a tropical depression yet continues to affect Northern, Northeastern, Central, and Eastern Thailand with heavy rainfall.

According to Thai News Agency, the storm's center was located in Guangxi Province, China, as of 4:00 AM, with maximum sustained winds near the center estimated at 50 kilometers per hour. Maysak is moving slightly northeast at a speed of 10 kilometers per hour and is expected to further weaken into a strong low-pressure system, eventually dissipating over southern Thailand.

The influence of Tropical Storm "Maysak," combined with the monsoon trough traversing Myanmar, Laos, and northern Vietnam, as well as a moderate southwest monsoon affecting the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand, continues to bring heavy rainfall to some areas of the northern and upper northeastern regions. The central and eastern regions will also experience heavy rainfall in certain areas, while the southern region will see a reduction in precipitation.

Wave conditions in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand remain moderate. In the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand, waves are reaching approximately 2 meters in height. In contrast, waves in the lower Andaman Sea are between 1-2 meters high. In areas experiencing thunderstorms, wave heights may exceed 2 meters. Mariners have been advised to exercise caution and avoid navigating through regions with thunderstorms.
