Trump Announces Major Military Operation in Iran

Washington: U.S. President Donald Trump announced today that the United States has launched a "major combat operation" in Iran, while also warning of potential U.S. military casualties.

According to Thai News Agency, President Trump stated that the strike was aimed at destroying missiles and clearing out Iranian naval forces. This move comes in the line of repeated warnings from both the United States and Israel that they would retaliate militarily if Iran continues its nuclear and missile programs.

In an 8-minute video statement on the Truth Social platform, the U.S. president stated that courageous American heroes may have sacrificed their lives, and that there may have been injuries or deaths, which is common in wartime. However, he affirmed that this decision was not made solely for the present but for the future, and that it was an honorable mission.

In addition, Mr. Trump sent a message to members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Iran's military, urging them to lay down their weapons and promising them immunity, but warning them that the opposite would result in "certain death."

This tension arises after several rounds of talks between the United States and Iran in recent weeks regarding Iran's nuclear program. The latest round of talks on Thursday ended without an agreement, with President Trump stating that Iran continues to reject offers as it has for decades and refuses to abandon its nuclear ambitions, making the US unable to tolerate the situation any longer.
