Two More Soldiers Fall in Defense of Thai Sovereignty

Bangkok: Thailand has lost two more soldiers, bringing the total fatalities to 21 in ongoing battles defending the nation’s sovereignty. These brave individuals lost their lives in distinct confrontations, one at the Nong Chan area in Sa Kaeo Province and the other at the Phlaen Bang Fai battlefield near Preah Vihear Temple in Kantaralak District, Si Saket Province.

According to Thai News Agency, the first reported death occurred at 4:20 PM when Sergeant Major Pornsak Iamsaad, known as “Sergeant Yai,” was killed in the Nong Chan battlefield. He served with the 1st Infantry Battalion, 2nd Infantry Regiment, Royal Guard, and his death marks the 20th soldier lost in this ongoing conflict.

Later, around 7 PM, news emerged of another casualty at the Battle of Phlaen Bang Fai. Private Wasan Khanhuathone, or Esso, was stationed at the Chao Phraya Surawongse Wattanasak Camp, part of the 13th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Battalion. He sustained injuries from mortar shell shrapnel and was transported to the Ta Taen Subdistrict Health Center in Kantaralak District, Sisaket Province, where he succumbed to his injuries. He is recorded as the 21st soldier to have fallen in the line of duty during these confrontations.
