Narathiwat: Security forces searching a mountainous area in southern Thailand killed two suspected insurgents following a clash on Tawe Mountain. A joint force of military and police units launched an operation targeting an armed group in Toh Leng village, Cho-airong district, Narathiwat province.

According to Thai News Agency, following a day-long search through dense jungle, authorities located the bodies of two men. Authorities stated that both suspects were linked to an attack on the Buke Sami checkpoint in Rangae district on July 22, as well as a bombing at a PTT gas station in the same district on January 10.

At the scene, security personnel seized an M16 rifle with ammunition, pipe bombs, IED components, backpacks, and survival supplies. Senior provincial officials later visited the hospital to facilitate procedures for the families claiming the bodies for religious rites.
