U.S. Department of Defense Plans to Request Additional Funding for Potential War with Iran

Washington: The U.S. Department of Defense has announced preparations to request additional funding from Congress for a potential war with Iran. U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hexeth confirmed today that the Department of Defense will seek further financial resources, acknowledging that the budget could potentially exceed $200 billion.

According to Thai News Agency, the proposed budget is expected to be significantly higher than previous U.S. military operations against Iran. This increase aims to replenish key equipment following extensive strikes by U.S. and Israeli forces on thousands of targets across Iran since February 28. However, the exact amount that the White House will request from Congress remains uncertain.

China's official Xinhua news agency reported that the financial burden of the U.S. attack on Iran has escalated rapidly, with costs exceeding $11 billion in the first week alone. Despite these developments, some officials express skepticism regarding the likelihood of Congress approving the Department of Defense's funding request, anticipating potential conflict among political factions within the legislature.
