Bangkok: Upper Thailand faces an increase in temperatures accompanied by morning fog, as reported by the Meteorological Department. Despite the warmer conditions, the Northern and Northeastern regions continue to experience cool weather in the mornings, prompting health advisories for residents due to these fluctuating weather patterns.
According to Thai News Agency, the Meteorological Department’s forecast for the next 24 hours indicates that a high-pressure area or cold air mass over upper Thailand is responsible for the increased temperatures and morning fog. However, the Northern and Northeastern areas will maintain cool morning temperatures. Residents are advised to protect their health amidst these changing conditions and exercise caution when traveling through foggy areas. The weakening northeast monsoon over the upper Gulf of Thailand and the monsoon trough affecting the lower southern region and Malaysia are expected to result in some thunderstorms in the southern region. While wave heights in the G
ulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea are about 1 meter, they can exceed 2 meters in areas experiencing thunderstorms, necessitating careful navigation by sailors.
Additionally, the tropical storm “Toraji” in the upper South China Sea is projected to approach Hainan Island, China, between November 14-15, 2024, and subsequently weaken into a depression and low-pressure cell. This storm is not anticipated to directly impact Thailand’s weather, though travelers to the region are advised to verify weather conditions before their journeys.
For November 13, 2024, Bangkok and nearby areas can expect partly cloudy skies with morning fog and a slight temperature rise, while the Northern region will see cool conditions with morning fog, with temperatures increasing slightly. The Northeastern region will experience cool weather with a minor temperature rise and thunderstorms in 20 percent of the area. The Central and Eastern regions will face morning fog and a slight temperature increase, with some thunderstorms in the
Eastern region. The Southern region, both East and West coasts, will witness thunderstorms in 40 percent of the area with varying wind conditions and wave heights, especially in thunderstorm-affected zones.
