Urgent Hunt Underway for Myanmar Man Accused of Fatal Shooting of Fitness Owner

Phetkasem Police Station: Police are actively searching for a 23-year-old Myanmar national, Mr. Saihuan, who allegedly shot and killed 70-year-old fitness owner Mr. Yutharot in his home before stealing his car and causing multiple collisions. CCTV footage has provided crucial insights into his escape route.

According to Thai News Agency, the incident took place on the evening of May 10, 2015. Phetkasem Police Station received a report regarding a shooting at a property spanning approximately 10 rai, which included a fitness room and several buildings. The crime scene was located at the back of the property, near a Thai house situated in the middle of the water. Mr. Yutharot was discovered lying face up in a pool of blood, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the torso from a .38 mm firearm. His body also bore scratch marks on the neck and torso. No bullet casings were found at the scene.

Further investigation revealed that Mr. Saihuan entered the property to visit his pregnant wife, who was employed as a caregiver for the deceased’s grandmother. Mr. Saihuan had informed his wife of his visit on a day when the fitness center was closed, as it operated on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Upon arrival, Mr. Yutharot refused entry, prompting Mr. Saihuan to scale the wall and approach the Thai house. A confrontation ensued between Mr. Saihuan and Mr. Yutharot, during which the firearm discharged twice, fatally wounding Mr. Yutharot. Mr. Saihuan seized the opportunity to take the deceased’s gun and escape in a gray-brown car. Relatives became aware of the incident over an hour later, but attempts to intercept Mr. Saihuan were unsuccessful.

Surveillance footage captured Mr. Saihuan fleeing the scene in the victim’s car, heading towards the Fai Chai intersection, where he collided with three additional vehicles before continuing his escape.

The news team visited the crime scene, finding the property securely locked. Conversations with local residents indicated that a taxi had been parked outside the house, leading them to witness Mr. Saihuan entering the property. Despite warnings, Mr. Saihuan proceeded, and gunshots were heard shortly after. Mr. Saihuan’s girlfriend, who worked at the house, later emerged seeking help for the victim.

In discussions with the perpetrator’s wife, she expressed regret for the incident and apologized to the victim’s family. Her husband had previously threatened to commit harm, prompting her to inform her employer. Despite efforts to prevent his entry, Mr. Saihuan managed to climb over the fence and enter the property.

Pol. Col. Pramote Chanboonkaew, Superintendent of Phetkasem Police Station, disclosed the suspect’s escape route, extending from the deceased’s residence to various intersections and eventually to Rangsit, Pathum Thani. Authorities tracked the victim’s mobile phone signal but lost connection due to a depleted battery. However, efforts to apprehend Mr. Saihuan continue, with expectations of an imminent arrest.
