Bangkok: Korn Chatikavanij, Deputy Leader of the Democrat Party, has revealed critical developments regarding the United States' impending sanctions on international scammer networks, suggesting involvement of a former minister from Anutin's cabinet. According to Thai News Agency, this revelation came through a message posted by Mr. Korn on his Facebook fan page, highlighting the urgency of international measures against scams affecting American citizens.

Mr. Korn disclosed that the details of an important document's signing by two U.S. House of Representatives committee chairmen, Brian Mast of the Foreign Affairs Committee and John Moolenaar of the Special Committee on China, will be unveiled soon. This document serves as a petition for the U.S. government to employ the Magnitsky Act, which targets foreign nationals involved in serious criminal activities, to prosecute those connected to transnational scam networks.

A particularly striking aspect of Mr. Korn's revelation is the inclusion of a "former minister in Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul's government" on the list of individuals submitted to U.S. authorities. This points to potential involvement from high-level Thai officials in these scam operations.

Mr. Korn criticized the inefficiency of Thai regulatory bodies, noting that despite the Democrat Party and the House of Representatives' Finance and Banking Committee having provided the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) with comprehensive evidence, there has been no action from Thai authorities. This inaction has paved the way for foreign entities to intervene and take measures against the scam networks.
