Suphan buri: Varawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Industry and Member of Parliament from the Bhumjaithai Party, along with Sorachat Sujit, MP for Suphan Buri Constituency 1, participated in a merit-making ceremony for Songkran, the Thai New Year, in Ku Muang, Suphan Buri. The duo vowed to continue the legacy of Varawut's father, Banharn, in serving the community and advancing their political careers.
According to Thai News Agency, the merit-making event, organized by community members at the Khumueang Suphan community office in Ruayai Subdistrict, was an opportunity for Varawut and Sorachat to engage with local residents, including many retired civil servants who have known Varawut since childhood. The community offered their blessings, expressing hopes for Varawut's political ascent, potentially even to the position of Prime Minister.
Varawut explained that their move to the Bhumjaithai Party was strategic, allowing them to hold ministerial positions and better serve the people. He highlighted that their current roles enable them to work more effectively for the residents of Suphan Buri, as the Bhumjaithai Party oversees several key ministries.
Reflecting on his father's enduring political career, Varawut expressed his determination to follow in Banharn's footsteps. He acknowledged the challenges he faces in trying to match his father's accomplishments but emphasized his commitment to improving his skills over time.
Varawut mentioned the upcoming 10th anniversary of his father's passing and expressed gratitude for the opportunities given by the people of Suphan Buri. He assured them of his dedication and the warm welcome he receives whenever he visits the community.
Sorachat noted the evolving nature of political administration, highlighting the shift from centralized to decentralized power structures following constitutional changes. He emphasized the importance of public participation in the current political landscape.
