Vice President of the Swiss Confederation to Visit Thailand

Mr. Ignazio Cassis, Vice President and Head of Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation, will pay an official visit to Thailand, as guest of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, on 1-3 August 2021.

The visit is part of the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Switzerland and provides an opportunity for both sides to discuss measures to upgrade their bilateral relations, especially on public health, reduction of greenhouse gas emission, education, trade, and investment.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the visit, the Vice President and Head of Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha at Government House.

He will also have a bilateral meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Don Pramudwinai at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health Anutin Charnvirakul.

Moreover, the Swiss delegation will bring with them a donation of 102 medical ventilators and 1.1 million Antigen Test kits for Thailand.

Throughout their stay in Thailand, the Vice President and Head of Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation and his delegation will strictly observe Thailand’s COVID-19 preventive measures, with a view to ensuring public health and safety of the Thai people.
