Violence Erupts During Songkran Festival in Phra Pradaeng, Ends in Fatal Shooting

Phra pradaeng: A shocking incident occurred amidst Songkran water festivities in Phra Pradaeng when a gunman opened fire on a married couple. The husband died, while the wife was shot in the thigh and injured. Police are reviewing CCTV footage to apprehend the gunman.

According to Thai News Agency, CCTV footage showed the victim chasing after the perpetrator before the assailant turned around and shot him in the chest, causing him to fall. There are also reports that the perpetrator used the same gun to shoot the victim's wife in the leg.

After the incident, the perpetrator, who was wearing a white long-sleeved shirt, ran back the way he came before quickly fleeing the area. This incident occurred at 5:00 PM in Soi Suk Sawat 72, Soi 2, Bang Chak Subdistrict, Phra Pradaeng District, Samut Prakan Province.

Following the incident, police from Phra Pradaeng Police Station inspected the scene and found a pool of blood and three spent bullet casings of an unknown caliber. Two injured individuals had already been helped to the hospital by local residents and good Samaritans.

Initial reports indicate that Mr. Noparat, 34, was shot in the chest and was in critical condition before later dying. His wife, Ms. Sao, was shot in the thigh, but her condition is now stable.

Eyewitnesses and good Samaritans who helped take the injured to the hospital recounted that while villagers were enjoying Songkran water festivities, they witnessed the perpetrators and the injured party arguing and fighting. The perpetrator then used a gun to shoot the woman, causing her to fall. The man tried to run away, but the assailant chased after him and fired three shots. At that moment, nearby villagers ran out to intervene, at which point the assailant turned and fired another shot, missing everyone, before quickly driving away.

Initially, investigators from Phra Pradaeng Police Station meticulously collected evidence at the scene and deployed officers to the area, checking CCTV footage along the suspected escape route, in an urgent effort to apprehend the gunman and bring him to justice.
