Bangkok: Viriyah Insurance and the Department of Land Transport are organizing free 20-point vehicle inspections to reduce the risk of accidents during Songkran.
According to Thai News Agency, this initiative is designed to encourage the public to ensure their vehicles are in good condition before traveling, thereby promoting safe travel during the Songkran festival in 2026.
Viriyah Insurance, in partnership with the Department of Land Transport, has launched the "Free Vehicle Inspection, Safe Driving" campaign. The campaign aims to raise public awareness of the importance of vehicle readiness, reduce accidents, and provide safety assurance throughout the Songkran festival 2026. As part of the campaign, free basic vehicle inspections covering 20 items are offered, and customers will receive a complimentary "waterproof Songkran bag" when utilizing the service at 31 authorized Viriyah Insurance service centers in Bangkok and nearby areas until April 11, 2026.
Mr. Pongphan Prapasirilak, Corporate Communications Manager of Viriyah Insurance Public Company Limited, emphasized the significance of vehicle checks during the Songkran festival, a period known for increased travel. The collaboration with the Department of Land Transport aims to enhance road safety, minimize accident risks, and ensure public peace of mind during the upcoming festivities.
Viriyah Insurance customers and the general public can avail themselves of the free 20-point vehicle check-up, which includes inspections of the engine oil level, tire condition, lighting and signal functions, accelerator pedal, oil leaks, battery fluid level, brakes, air filter, clutch, steering system, engine condition, and more. A free "Waterproof Songkran Bag" is given upon registration and completion of a survey via QR code, while supplies last. This complimentary vehicle inspection service is accessible at Viriyah Insurance authorized service centers marked with the "Free Vehicle Inspection, Safe Driving" promotional sign until April 11, 2026.
