Bangkok: Tae Achiwa, a vocational student, led a significant protest at the Ministry of Education, submitting a list of nearly 100,000 names opposing the free education policy for migrant children. Tae, along with the "Thai People Don't Tolerate" group, gathered to express their discontent with the 2025 announcement regarding the acceptance of students without Thai nationality. They delivered a letter demanding the suspension of the policy, arguing that the budget should focus on Thai children first.
According to Thai News Agency, Tae articulated concerns over the allocation of over 800 million baht to support foreign children, emphasizing the need to prioritize Thai children's education. He also raised issues related to national security and the potential misuse of rights under the new policy.
A representative from the Ministry of Education received the protest letter and assured that it would be taken into consideration. Tae stated that if there is no progress in addressing their concerns, they plan to escalate the matter to the Prime Minister's Office.
