Bangkok: Residents of Khan Yai district are lining up to exercise their right to vote in the general election and referendum. At 8:00 AM at polling station number 15, located at the sports field of Kehathani 3 Village, Ramintra Subdistrict, Kannayao District, Bangkok, a long line of people had already formed before the polls opened. Election officials were on hand to assist and guide voters through the process. This location served as both a polling station for the parliamentary elections and the referendum. Clear pathways were established within the polling station. After casting their votes for the parliamentary elections (both constituency and party-list), voters proceeded to the nearby referendum polling station, received a yellow ballot, entered the voting booth, and cast their ballot in the designated ballot box.
According to Thai News Agency, before the polling stations opened, officials opened the ballot boxes to allow the public to see that nothing was inside, for transparency and as per procedure. Afterward, citizens continuously exercised their right to vote and cast their votes in the referendum.
Observations revealed that at every polling station, signs were posted in front of the booths allowing citizens to check information about constituency candidates and party-list numbers. This enabled citizens to verify the information before entering the polling booth. There were also signs promoting the proper way to cast their ballot.
At polling station 15, Lan Kila 1, Keha Thani 3 Village, Ramintra Subdistrict, Kannayao District, the Shinawatra family, including former Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Khunying Pojaman Damapongse, and Pintongta Shinawatra Kunakornwong, are scheduled to cast their votes around 10:30 AM.
