"Warawut" urges the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security to urgently help victims of the fire in the Yaowarat community, whether they are Thai or foreigners. Mr. Anukul Peedkaew, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS), spoke about the progress in helping people affected by the fire incident in the Trok Pho community in Yaowarat area. On the same day, the MSDHS executives, officers from the Center for Accelerated Welfare Management (CWRM), the Social Assistance Center, MSDHS Hotline 1300, the Bangkok Homeless Protection Center, and volunteers from the Samphanthawong District Social Development and Human Security Office jointly visited the Samphanthawong Temple (Wat Ko) Command Center to provide moral support to the affected people and to discuss the facts and needs of assistance in order to urgently alleviate their suffering. Mr. Anukul said that initially, there were 44 households, 166 people affected by the disaster, som e of whom were foreigners who were affected by the damaged houses and could not live there. The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security will hold a meeting with relevant agencies and the Samphanthawong District Office, Bangkok, to jointly plan immediate assistance and the next phase. Currently, many agencies have joined in helping the victims, such as the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (Saphanthawong District Office and the 13 Maitriwanich Public Health Service Center, Health Department), the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, the Ministry of Interior, the Department of Employment, the Ministry of Labor, the police, and the Por Tek Tung Foundation. In addition, a royal kitchen has been set up to alleviate the suffering of the victims in terms of food. Mr. Anukul added that Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS), has emphasized the need to provide assistance to those affected by the disaster, whether they are Thai or foreigners, and ask ed the MSDHS to provide full assistance. Currently, 51 victims who are the target group of the MSDHS have registered for assistance with various departments: 1) Department of Older Persons Affairs (16 people), 2) Department of Social Development and Welfare (29 people), 3) Department of Empowerment and Development of the Quality of Life of Persons with Disabilities (1 person), and 4) Department of Children and Youth Affairs (5 people). Each department will then consider providing assistance in the form of cash assistance and assistance from various funds, including assistance for the homeless and the homeless, assistance for the elderly in difficult circumstances, assistance and rehabilitation for the disabled, and the Child Protection Fund and assistance for children in poor families.
