Pathum Thani:Wat Sai Mai has initiated a relief effort to assist villagers in Lam Luk Ka District by distributing sand to build water barriers and mitigate flooding.
According to Thai News Agency, the abbot of Wat Sai Mai, Phra Khru Sophonphatrawet, also known as Luang Pho Odd Pathaniko, has expressed his concern for those affected by the floods. He instructed that an unlimited supply of sand be made available at the Ai Makham shrine for people to take as needed, free of charge. This initiative aims to help flood victims in the area and surrounding communities.
The temple has requested that individuals collecting sand bring their own sandbags and equipment to facilitate quicker and more efficient usage. The sand can be used to create barriers, seal leaks, or prevent water from entering homes, providing temporary relief while the flooding situation persists.
The abbot emphasized the importance of community cooperation to overcome the flood crisis, encouraging mutual assistance and support during this challenging time.
