Bangkok: The Wat Sutthi Football Club is all set to host its 12th annual "Senior Meets Junior" event, which aims to bring together former national team stars to share their experiences with young players. Scheduled for Saturday, August 8th, the event will start at 2:00 PM and feature a training camp for over 100 young players, aspiring to become future football stars.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Solos Udomsompong, President of the Sutthiwararam School Football Alumni Association, announced that the association has been organizing this annual homecoming event since 2014. The "Singha Saphan Pla Homecoming, 12th Edition" will be hosted by former players from the 1985 graduating class, including Mr. Chalermkiat Bangnoi, and will feature various activities for former players to reminisce and exchange ideas. The event also aims to provide guidance and inspiration to young footballers aged 14-18, encouraging them to follow in the footsteps of their national team counterparts.
A special tribute will be paid to "Mae Wee," Ms. Tawee Pimsarn, the team manager, and other teachers who have significantly contributed to the success of the Wat Sutthiporn School football team since 1990. The school's U14, U16, and U18 teams have all advanced to Category A in the Department of Physical Education Football Tournament this year, marking a significant achievement. The event will also celebrate the success of the coaching staff and current players, with talented former national team players like Apisit Khaikaew and Thawatchai Matiwong invited to participate.
Mr. Solos highlighted that registered former football players will receive a high-quality bag as a souvenir and enjoy a Chinese banquet. Merchandise such as scarves, mugs, and football jerseys will be available for purchase, with all proceeds going towards managing the "Singha Saphan Pla" football team. He emphasized the importance of the event in building the school's reputation and invited all former players to join this once-a-year opportunity to reunite and celebrate.
