Bangkok: The Senate’s Entertainment Venue Study Committee has appointed Weeraphan as its chairman following the withdrawal of Prof. Charan and Senator Lae from the candidacy.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Sorachat Wichaya Suwannaprom, who serves as the Vice Chairman of the Senate’s Special Committee on the Study of the Opening of a Full-Service Entertainment Complex, disclosed the outcome of the committee’s vote, which resulted in the selection of Nanwiraphan Suwannamai as chairman.
The committee has also appointed four vice-chairmen: Mr. Sorachat Wichaya Suwannaprom as the first deputy, Mr. Nipon Ekwanich as the second deputy, Mr. Pratuang Mantri as the third deputy, and Lieutenant Commander Wuttipong Phongsuwan as the fourth deputy. Ms. Atcharaphan Homrot will serve as the committee’s secretary, with Ms. Kanyarat Krotphu Khiao and Mr. Saensak Siriphanit as deputy secretaries. Mr. Chaiyong Manirungsakun has been named the committee’s spokesman.
The committee membership includes a significant number of external advisors, such as Prof. Charan Phakdeethanakul, Prof. Wutthisarn Tanchai, Mr. Kaewsan Atibodhi, and Mr. Chaiwat Junthiraphong, who is the Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration. During the voting process, the majority of the committee members expressed a preference for a neutral candidate to assume the role of chairman. Consequently, three individuals were initially proposed: Mr. Wiraphan, Prof. Charan, and Mr. Lae. After the withdrawal of Prof. Charan and Mr. Lae, Mr. Wiraphan was elected as chairman with the highest number of votes.
