Phra phloeng: A wild elephant attacked a eucalyptus logging worker, killing one and seriously injuring three others in a forest park area of a village in Phra Phloeng subdistrict, Sa Kaeo province.
According to Thai News Agency, the tragic incident occurred while the workers were engaged in logging activities in the forest plantation. Two of the survivors managed to escape and sought assistance from community leaders.
Upon receiving the distress call, community leaders and Village Defense Volunteers (VDP) organized a search operation. They utilized drones to track the elephant’s movements and ensure the safety of the search team. During the operation, an abandoned sidecar belonging to a villager was discovered, leading the team to the deceased’s body at the edge of a rubber plantation.
Initial investigations suggest that the victim was alone in the rubber plantation, applying acid in the morning when the elephant attacked. This elephant is believed to be the same one involved in the earlier attack on the group of eucalyptus loggers.
