Wiroj Challenges Chuvit’s Allegations Against People’s Party

Bangkok: Wiroj Lakkhana-adisorn, deputy leader and candidate for the People's Party's party-list MP, has confronted Chuvit Kamolvisith over allegations that the People's Party had a covert agreement with Police General Surachet Hakpal, also known as "Big Jok." Wiroj expressed his tolerance for criticism and acknowledged the perspectives of others but emphasized that he could not accept Chuvit's recent claims. He questioned the baseless nature of Chuvit's allegations by drawing a parallel with a recent image of Chuvit embracing a Cambodian military officer, suggesting the potential for a hidden agenda.

According to Thai News Agency, Wiroj addressed Chuvit's media statement, asserting that the People's Party has consistently welcomed criticism. He attributed Chuvit's dissatisfaction with the party's support for Anutin Charnvirakul as Prime Minister to personal disappointment, yet maintained respect for Chuvit, even expressing gratitude for his feedback. Despite Chuvit's continuous critique of the party, Wiroj remained respectful, recognizing Chuvit's right to exercise his voting preferences.

Wiroj further elaborated on Chuvit's ongoing criticisms, particularly concerning the article "Why do we need a military," which included views from the Army's Information Department. Although the People's Party had already clarified these issues publicly, Wiroj questioned Chuvit's persistence in disseminating such information. He suggested that Chuvit's actions were not merely driven by personal bias but possibly by ulterior motives, aiming to tarnish the People's Party's reputation.

Wiroj refuted the specific claim that the People's Party had struck a deal with Big Jok as a fabricated narrative. He insisted that this accusation was a deliberate misrepresentation intended to slander the party with false claims about Big Jok's purported appointment as Deputy Prime Minister. Wiroj challenged Chuvit's intentions, hinting at possible connections to a military officer linked with a controversial network, but refrained from exploiting this connection out of respect for Chuvit.

Anticipating further press conferences from Chuvit, Wiroj expressed confidence that more fabrications might be forthcoming. He urged society to scrutinize Chuvit's actions and motivations, questioning which political party might benefit from these allegations, and encouraged public judgment to assess the credibility of Chuvit's claims moving forward.
