Bangkok: Wiroj Lakkhanaadisorn, a prominent figure from the Prachachon Party, has voiced strong criticism against the Pheu Thai Party, questioning its stance on gray capital in forming a government.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Wiroj, who is both a party-list MP and deputy leader of the Prachachon Party, openly challenged the Pheu Thai Party leader regarding the ongoing campaign “With Us, There’s No Gray.” He questioned whether the party would incorporate gray capital, which he described as funds associated with illegal activities such as human trafficking and drug trafficking, into their governance plans. Mr. Wiroj expressed concerns that such “dirty money” could infiltrate political mechanisms, leading to the formation of gray politicians who prioritize the interests of gray capital over national welfare.

Mr. Wiroj further emphasized the need for a clear policy to combat gray capital, urging the Pheu Thai Party to publicly declare their stance. He highlighted the importance of protecting the nation from the influence of illicit funds, which he believes could undermine Thai businesses and exploit vulnerable populations, including the elderly. The potential financial loss to Thai citizens, he warned, could exceed 300,000,000 baht daily if the issue is not effectively addressed.

He also addressed the broader political landscape, stating that the People’s Party remains committed to transparency and accountability. He underscored the importance of a systematic approach to tackling household debt, ensuring fair interest rates, and fostering economic growth through investment in industry and innovation. While acknowledging the need for cooperation with financial institutions, Mr. Wiroj affirmed that the People’s Party’s policies would not cater to capitalist interests or gray capital groups.
