Wiroj Declares People’s Party Will No Longer Be Slandered

Bangkok: "The Orange Party will no longer be a victim," announced Mr. Viroj Lakkhanaadisorn, Deputy Leader of the People's Party, as he issued a strong statement against the defamation of his party. In his address on January 19, 2026, Viroj introduced a "Death Note," a metaphorical term for the lawsuits being filed against the Election Commission and various individuals, politicians, and online trolling pages accused of slandering the People's Party.

According to Thai News Agency, Viroj emphasized the party's dedication to shielding the public from misleading campaign strategies, particularly the dissemination of fake news that undermines the electoral process. He refuted claims that the party leader, Mr. Nattapong, intends to dismantle all security fences, labeling such assertions as falsehoods that distort the truth.

The controversy also involves allegations of a staged incident concerning a letter from a low-ranking soldier about their living conditions, as well as the revival of dismissed cases, such as one involving a Chiang Mai parliamentary candidate who was acquitted. Additionally, false accusations have been levied against other candidates, implicating them in online gambling activities.

The People's Party's legal team is actively compiling evidence to support further legal actions in response to these defamatory claims.
