Wiset Chai Chan District to Host Hero Commemoration Festival

Wiset chai chan: Wiset Chai Chan district is all set to host the "Commemoration of the Heroes of Wiset Chai Chan District" festival from March 24-27, 2026. The event aims to honor the heroism of Thai ancestors who defended national independence and will feature an array of parades, light and sound shows, cultural performances, and local products.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Apichat Srihera, District Chief of Wiset Chai Chan District in Ang Thong Province, stated that under the leadership of Mr. Nathee Montriwat, Governor of Ang Thong Province, the public is invited to the event. It will take place over four days at the monument of Nai Dok and Nai Thongkaew in Phai Cham Sil Subdistrict, Wiset Chai Chan District, Ang Thong Province.

This collaborative event involves Wiset Chai Chan District, local administrative organizations, village headmen, community leaders, private sector, civil society, and the general public. It aims to commemorate the bravery of historical figures like Mr. Dok Chawban Klap and Mr. Thongkaew Chawban Pho Thale, who played pivotal roles during the late Ayutthaya period in defending Thailand's independence.

The event will include a homage ceremony to the heroes, a wreath-laying ceremony, a parade competition by local administrative organizations, and performances showcasing local identity. Renowned Luk Thung artists such as 'Mangpor Chonthicha,' 'Or Oradee,' 'Ratchanok Srilophan,' and 'Damrong Wongthong' will perform every day at 8:30 PM. Additionally, a light and sound musical show is scheduled with performances on March 25th and 26th at 7:30 PM, along with a competition for children and youth bands under 18 years old.

The festival will also feature stalls selling community products and goods from local entrepreneurs, including offerings from Ratchasri Kitchen. Over 70 stalls will present local products from various sub-districts. Attendees will have the opportunity to sample food, shop for unique items, admire decorations, and enjoy historical, cultural, and traditional Thai music performances.
