The witness, a former member of the Bhumjaithai Party, claims to have been contacted by an unknown individual who warned of political persecution from the party. The individual allegedly offered to assist the witness by changing their legal status from defendant to witness, contingent on providing testimony according to a predetermined script. The witness reported being threatened with political and legal repercussions, which also extended to their son, a local government official, resulting in significant fear and compliance with the demands.
The witness further detailed that government agencies, including the Department of Special Investigation, the Ministry of Justice, and the Royal Thai Police, were allegedly being used to fabricate evidence against the Bhumjaithai Party. The witness was promised immunity from prosecution in exchange for cooperation but expressed concerns about the manipulation of evidence and testimony.
