Pattaya: A woman applying for a job was approached by someone on a motorcycle who dragged her away and raped her. A brazen incident occurred in Pattaya when a man on a motorcycle followed a 26-year-old woman who was riding her own motorcycle to apply for a job. He then reached over, turned off the engine, and dragged her away before raping her.
According to Thai News Agency, this incident occurred in the Khao Chao Mae Sakorn area, Moo 6, Huai Yai Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province. The victim is a 26-year-old woman. The incident happened around 7:00 PM. A good Samaritan driving a pickup truck along this road saw her running out of a roadside vacant lot, naked and crying for help. He stopped his car, gave her some clothes to wear, and took her to the police station.
The victim told police at Huai Yai Police Station that before the incident, she had ridden her motorcycle from her home in Prachinburi to apply for a job in the Na Jomtien area. She didn't know the way but followed GPS directions along Highway 331. Near the incident location, the GPS signal instructed her to make a U-turn onto Huai Yai Road to head towards Na Jomtien. However, just 500 meters after turning, she noticed a shrine on the left side of the hill. A man on a blue Honda PCX motorcycle without license plates followed her and reached over to turn off her motorcycle's ignition, forcing her to stop abruptly.
The man then rushed forward, dragged her over the netting stretched along the roadside, and into an abandoned house less than 100 meters from the road, where he raped her. After the assault, she took advantage of a moment when the perpetrator was distracted and managed to escape and seek help.
As soon as police received the information, they rushed to the scene to investigate. This morning, they went to gather more evidence and review CCTV footage. Police admit that although this road is deserted, they have never experienced an incident like this before. Therefore, they still need to question the victim further, as she is in a state of shock and her testimony is inconsistent. However, she confirms that she was dressed modestly, wearing long pants and a helmet while riding her motorcycle. The perpetrator, on the other hand, was dressed like an ordinary person and was not easily recognizable.
