Beijing: President Xi Jinping, who is also the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, chaired a meeting of the Politburo of the Central Committee on Friday to discuss the economic and social development framework for the 15th Five-Year National Economic and Social Development Plan (2026-2030) and the framework for the government work report for the State Council to be submitted to the upcoming annual session of the National People's Congress.
According to Thai News Agency, the meeting stated that the 14th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development (2021-2025) is a crucial and special period in China's development. The Central Committee of the Party, led by Xi Jinping, united the Party and the Chinese people of all ethnic groups, guiding them through the once-in-a-century impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, effectively addressing numerous major risks and challenges, and achieving significant new accomplishments in Party and national affairs.
The 15th Five-Year National Economic and Social Development Plan (2026-2030) period will be a crucial one as China aims to strengthen its foundations and push forward in all aspects to achieve the fundamental modernization of the socialist system by 2035. The formulation and implementation of the 15th Five-Year National Economic and Social Development Plan under the leadership of the Central Committee of the Party will be vital in strengthening strengths, removing development bottlenecks, and supporting weaknesses.
The meeting emphasized that China's economic and social development during the 15th Five-Year National Economic and Social Development Plan has economic development as its central mission, reform and innovation as its fundamental driving force, and the Party's rigorous self-government in all dimensions as the foundation supporting all efforts.
