Chachoengsao: "Yai Thonglor's" traditional boat noodle stall has been a staple along the Khlong Preng canal, bridging Chachoengsao and Samut Prakan provinces, for more than 17 years. Known for the distinctive sound of an air horn, locals eagerly await at the pier to purchase noodles, providing a unique glimpse into canal-side life. The noodles, praised for their fragrant broth and tender meat, are priced starting at 40 baht.

According to Thai News Agency, every morning in Chachoengsao province, the speedboat of 70-year-old Mrs. Thonglor Lodkaew can be seen navigating the Khlong Preng canal, signaling her arrival with the sound of an air horn. This routine has been a daily occurrence for over 17 years, with Grandma Thonglor starting her day at 9:00 AM, covering over 15 kilometers along the canals. Her journey includes stops at various alleys, side streets, and communities across two provinces.

Initially utilizing a rowboat, Grandma Thonglor and her husband transitioned to a motorboat to accommodate the expanding distance of her route. Her clientele consists of regular customers, ranging from children to local government officials, who gather at the pier in anticipation of her arrival. The social aspect of her business brings her joy, likening it to visiting relatives daily.

The boat noodles are celebrated for their rich and flavorful broth, a result of simmering pork bones and radishes, offering a sweet and savory profile. Customers can choose between thin, thick, or egg noodles, available in soup, tom yum, or dry versions. Each bowl is topped with roasted pork and meatballs, priced affordably between 40-50 baht. Additionally, iced coffee and iced milk tea are available to accompany the meal. Grandma Thonglor's service extends from morning until afternoon, after which she returns home.
