Bangkok: Yi Thanakun has brought to light a significant investment case involving Film Ratthaphum, who allegedly invited individuals to invest in Dubai in a manner akin to forex trading, leading to damages exceeding 60 million baht. The opposing party maintains that the funds were indeed invested but unfortunately resulted in a loss.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Thanakun Jittisara, also known as Ee, discussed the incident concerning victims from Trang Province who reported the case. It bears similarities to a previous forex-related case, with Film Ratthaphum identified as the central figure. This situation is linked to a 20 million baht extortion case involving Boss The Icon, who allegedly persuaded the victims, a couple from Trang Province, to invest since 2020. Film Ratthaphum was reportedly aware of the transactions.
Mr. Thanakun disclosed that both parties are currently engaged in legal proceedings against one another. The victims allege that their money was never actually invested, whereas Film’s
side claims that the investments were real but suffered losses. The investment strategy was reportedly similar to forex trading.
Evidence provided by Mr. Thanakun includes records of money transfers and names of those involved, along with a photograph of Film Ratthaphum using a private jet to collect cash from the victims. All related expenses were covered by the victims’ funds. It remains uncertain whether the investment venture was fraudulent, prompting further investigation.
Additionally, Mr. Thanakun mentioned that some individuals implicated in the case have started reimbursing the victims, fearing legal repercussions, with repayments totaling over 20 million baht.
