Bangkok: Ying Thitikan and Bum Panadda teamed up to prepare food for the people who came to pay their respects at the Royal Crematorium of Her Majesty the Queen Mother. Ying shared an unforgettable childhood experience of being in the presence of King Rama IX, Mother of the Land.
According to Thai News Agency, the first day of volunteer work for the country singer, Ying Thitikan, involved teaming up with the host of the entertainment program Tok Mun Ban Teng, Dr. Boom Panadda, who is also the president of the Good Organization Foundation. They were stationed at the royal food tent to help prepare stir-fried catfish balls and distribute them to the people who came to pay their respects to the royal urn of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, at the Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall in the Grand Palace.
Ying revealed that it was her first day volunteering at Sanam Luang. From a young age, she has witnessed the royal work of Her Majesty the Queen Mother, who helped people escape poverty. She recounted her childhood experience of greeting His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Her Majesty the Queen Mother at Wat Ratchaorotaram Ratchaworawihan, a moment that left a lasting impression on her. Upon learning of Her Majesty’s passing, she felt deeply saddened. Volunteering today has shown her the systematic organization of everything, including how meticulously every royal meal is prepared. The cooks are content, and so are the diners.
Boom Panadda, after the event, traveled to Sanam Luang to encourage the Do Good Foundation team. She emphasized the importance of convenience for the public and the need for volunteers to be fully cared for. She manages food preparation by selecting menus appropriate for the target audience. Food service begins at 3 a.m., accommodating people who arrive early from out of town. Hot water for tea, coffee, and medication is provided for the elderly. The Do Good Foundation plans to prepare the royally bestowed menus for approximately one month, with potential for extension, and is not accepting donations for this distribution.
