Bangkok: Yotchanan Wongswasdi and his wife, Ms. Nantakan Silpasawekul, participated in the voting process, emphasizing the importance of civic engagement. The couple arrived at polling station 54 in the Thung Song Hong Subdistrict, Lak Si District, at 9:00 AM to cast their votes for the constituency and referendum district 8.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Yotchanan expressed his enthusiasm for the voting process, encouraging citizens to exercise their right to vote. He noted that apart from the election, the referendum held significance and urged people to engage in both by obtaining and casting all the necessary ballots. Mr. Yotchanan highlighted that today marked an exciting day for democracy.
In an interview, Mr. Yotchanan mentioned that the voting procedures were straightforward. After submitting two election ballots, voters could return to receive a third one for the referendum. He stressed the smoothness of the process, ensuring no confusion for voters.
Ms. Nantakan, listed as number 243 on the ballot, commented on their morning routine. She shared that Mr. Yotchanan began his day by praying and seeking blessings from his mother, Mrs. Yaowapha, before heading to the polling station. The couple used a golf cart to travel from their residence to the voting location, where Mr. Yotchanan greeted the media with a smile.
Reflecting on the timing of their vote, Mr. Yotchanan mentioned that the morning was spent relaxing with family, which slightly delayed their arrival. He anticipated a significant voter turnout across Thailand, seeing the day as an opportunity for citizens to contribute to the nation's democratic process.
Following their voting, Mr. Yotchanan planned to have a family lunch before proceeding to the Pheu Thai Party headquarters between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM to monitor the election results.
