Yotsanan Wongsawat Reaffirms Pheu Thai Party’s Commitment Amid Political Criticisms

Bangkok: Mr. Yotsanan Wongsawat, the Pheu Thai Party's prime ministerial candidate, addressed recent remarks made by Mr. Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit, a campaign assistant for the People's Party. Thanathorn suggested that regardless of which party is chosen in the upcoming election, the Bhumjaithai Party would ultimately form the government, leading to the same familiar faces in power. Yotsanan, however, refrained from directly commenting on Thanathorn's statement, emphasizing the need for political parties to communicate their policies transparently and engage with the public. He underscored that the people's judgment would be crucial in the election outcome and reiterated that if Pheu Thai leads the government, he intends to serve as prime minister.

According to Thai News Agency, Yotsanan responded to questions about how the phrase "choose the same way, you'll get the same results" might influence public decision-making. He expressed confidence that the public is well-informed and understands the situation based on his field observations. He affirmed that Pheu Thai Party aims to secure 200 seats to maintain unity and will consider aligning with parties whose policies resonate with theirs.

Addressing Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul's campaign tactics, which involved using the "Uncle" issue and nationalist themes, Yotsanan stated that patriotism is essential but stressed the importance of focusing on the economy and people's livelihoods. He highlighted the Pheu Thai Party's commitment to promoting Thai products and elevating Thailand to a high-income country.

Yotsanan dismissed concerns that the "Uncle" issue could be a vulnerability during the campaign, viewing it instead as a strength. He emphasized the party's efforts to stand with the people and effectively communicate its policies to local areas by gathering public concerns through fieldwork.

When questioned about the Pheu Thai Party's ability to address ongoing attacks related to the "Uncle" issue, Yotsanan maintained that there was no problem. He asserted that the party is committed to combating scams, corruption, and drug trafficking, and has been conveying this message across various platforms.
