Bangkok:The Young Designer 2026 competition is providing a platform for new generation designers to present fresh ideas and perspectives on Thai fabrics. The event, which took place at the ICONSIAM shopping mall, featured innovative designs that reinterpret traditional Thai textiles.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Arsit Sampanrat, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, praised the initiative. He highlighted that the competition encourages young designers to transform Thai fabrics into contemporary pieces that are suitable for various occasions, thereby meeting modern lifestyle needs while maintaining a unique identity.

Mr. Arsit emphasized that the initiative aligns with the aspirations of Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya, who encourages wearing Thai fabrics for enjoyment. He noted that the competition not only promotes creativity but also creates economic opportunities for weavers by providing them with a profession and income.

The exhibition of the winning designs aims to raise awareness and expand market opportunities for young entrepreneurs. It displays valuable clothing designs that embody creativity and modern local wisdom, reflecting the innovative spirit of emerging designers.
