Chachoengsao: An 8-year-old girl found herself in a precarious situation when her left ring finger became tightly lodged in a stainless steel doorknob at her home, resulting in significant bleeding. Her mother, providing comfort to the distressed child, promptly took her to Phutthasothon Hospital for assistance.

According to Thai News Agency, emergency medical personnel at the hospital reached out to the Chachoengsao rescue center, requesting specialized assistance and equipment to safely free the girl's finger. The rescue operation was meticulously planned, with the child's hand placed on a sink to clean the wounds and thick paper used as a protective shield against sparks. A metal plate was also inserted between the girl's skin and the doorknob to ensure the cutting tool did not make direct contact with her finger.

The rescue operation, which was both challenging and required precise execution, involved the use of a grinder to cut the doorknob piece by piece. Water was applied to the cutting area to mitigate heat, and a smaller grinder was employed to create a groove that allowed the tool to be pried open carefully. Despite the stainless steel structure inside the doorknob making the task more difficult, the rescuers persevered for over an hour and a half to successfully free the girl's finger. She is now receiving medical treatment for her injuries.
