Young Man Arrested in Hospital After Fatal Stabbing Over Motorcycle Noise Dispute

Bangkok: A 29-year-old man was apprehended in the emergency room of Phumibol Adulyadej Hospital after fatally stabbing his 64-year-old neighbor during a dispute over a loud motorcycle engine. The confrontation began when Mr. Jirapat, also known as Beer, argued with Mr. Sorasak over the noise caused by Jirapat’s motorcycle. The altercation escalated, resulting in Mr. Sorasak’s death.

According to Thai News Agency, the incident unfolded around 8 p.m. in Soi Phahonyothin 48, Intersection 30, Anusawari Subdistrict, Bang Khen District. Police received a report of a physical altercation involving a knife, which led them to discover drops of blood at the scene. Mr. Sorasak sustained stab wounds to the chest and face and was admitted to CGH Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, Mr. Jirapat sustained a stab wound to his right thigh and sought medical attention at Bhumibol Adulyadej Hospital, where police arrested him.

Investigations revealed that Mr. Jirapat confessed to the stabbing, explaining that the conflict began when he was returning home after dropping off his girlfriend. His motorcycle’s engine was malfunctioning, causing excessive noise, which angered Mr. Sorasak. The two engaged in a heated argument that turned physical, with Mr. Sorasak initially stabbing Mr. Jirapat. As Mr. Jirapat attempted to go to the hospital, he encountered Mr. Sorasak again, leading to another altercation where Mr. Jirapat grabbed the knife and fatally stabbed Mr. Sorasak.

Authorities have taken Mr. Jirapat and the knife into custody at Bang Khen Police Station for further legal proceedings.
