Chiang mai: A group of students were stabbed by a young man claiming to be the son of a politician, injuring five. Students from a prominent Chiang Mai university are worried the case will not progress after a young man claiming to be the son of a politician stabbed his friend, injuring five people, two of them seriously. They are preparing to gather evidence and submit it to the police to prosecute the perpetrator.
According to Thai News Agency, a video clip shows some of the incident where two groups of teenagers got into a fight in front of a restaurant in the middle of Nimmanhaemin Road, Soi 7, Muang District, Chiang Mai, at approximately 12:20 a.m. on November 3rd. The incident caused panic among tourists in the area. The incident resulted in a total of five injuries, two of them seriously.
A group of victims, both university students in Chiang Mai, stated that they had been with 10 friends before the incident. While seated inside the restaurant, the perpetrators became antagonized and punched one of them. The perpetrators then got up to apologize and dispersed. However, after closing, the victims walked past the other party’s table to leave the restaurant and were confronted again, sparking a scuffle outside the restaurant, leading to a knife being drawn and stabbed. The perpetrators confirmed that they had never met the perpetrators before and that this was their first time visiting the restaurant. The issue was unrelated to women, as shared on social media, as there was only one female friend in the group and he was with his girlfriend. The perpetrator also claimed to be the son of a politician.
However, after the incident, the group of victims filed a complaint at Phuping Ratchaniwet Police Station. Investigators have scheduled all of them for further questioning tomorrow. There are no reports of any arrests of the perpetrators. The group of victims is concerned that if the perpetrator is the son of a politician, as claimed, this could hinder the case. The victims have photos and video clips from various angles at the scene, including dashcam footage, which they are preparing to submit to investigators for use as evidence in the prosecution.
