Bang Pakong: A young man’s car became completely submerged in the Bang Pakong River following a domestic quarrel that led to an unfortunate accident.
According to Thai News Agency, the incident occurred at 00:30 when the Bang Pakong Police Station received a report of a car falling into the river near the Bang Pakong River Bridge on Theparat Road (Bangna-Trat) at kilometer 51, heading inbound to Bangkok. The authorities, in coordination with the Chachoengsao Rescue Unit, arrived at the scene to find a bronze pickup truck that had already disappeared beneath the river’s surface.
Mr. Chitsanupong, the 40-year-old driver of the pickup truck, recounted the events leading up to the accident. Following an argument with his wife, he drove to the riverbank, leaving the engine running as he tried to sleep inside the vehicle. Inadvertently, his foot hit the gear, causing the truck to lurch forward and plunge into the water. Mr. Chitsanupong managed to open the window and escape just in time before the vehicle sank. A villager passing by on a motorcycle attempted to assist by providing a rope to secure the truck, but the effort was ultimately too late.
