28-Year-Old Woman Endures Terrifying Assault Ordeal in Sena District

Sena district: A 28-year-old woman has shared her harrowing experience of being attacked by two men who attempted to sexually assault her after tying her up, robbing her, and threatening her with a knife. Local police are actively seeking the suspects involved in this case.

According to Thai News Agency, the victim reported the incident, which occurred on August 21st, and expressed ongoing trauma and anxiety due to the perpetrators remaining at large. The woman described being ambushed while on her motorcycle, forced to stop by two men who threatened her with a knife, and subsequently driven to a secluded area.

The victim recounted being taken to a forested area near Hongpraphas Village, Moo 3, Don Lan Subdistrict, where the men attempted to assault her. Her cries for help and resistance, using her bound feet, ultimately deterred the attackers, who fled upon hearing nearby voices. They robbed her of approximately 1,976 baht and a mobile phone, using the latter to send threatening messages to her boyfriend before escaping.

Local police, alerted by the victim's boyfriend, arrived at the location to rescue her. The area, characterized by its isolation and proximity to rice fields and an irrigation canal, was searched, and items possibly linked to drug use were found and collected for further investigation.

The victim's boyfriend, who reported no personal conflicts, suspects the attackers may have been monitoring or harboring an interest in his girlfriend. A previous similar incident involving a vehicle hijack attempt raises questions about a potential connection, though evidence is yet to confirm any links.

Authorities are in the process of gathering evidence, including reviewing CCTV footage along the suspects' escape route. The victim has urged the police to expedite the investigation to prevent future crimes by the same individuals.
